What data do we collect?

When you purchase goods from the South African Wine Cellar, during the buying, selling, delivery and return processes, we will collect some personal information from you in line with the Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (https://sso.agc.gov.sg/Act/PDPA2012). The data we collect will include:

Identity Data: This includes first name, last name, username, title or similar identifier.
Contact Data: This includes billing address, delivery address, email address and telephone numbers.
Financial data: This includes payment methods, but it does not include your credit or debit card details, which we do not store.
Transaction Data: This includes details about payments to and from the South African Wine Cellar and other details of products and services you have purchased from us.
Technical Data: This includes internet protocol (IP) address, browser type, operating system and version.
Marketing and Communications Data: This includes your preferences in receiving marketing from the South African Wine Cellar and your communication preferences.

How do we store your data?

We follow industry best practices to ensure your data is not lost, accessed, disclosed or altered. Your data is stored using secure data storage and secured by a firewall.

The direct payment gateways used by the South African Wine Cellar comply with the standard Data Protection Laws. If you use one of the payment gateways to complete your purchase, the payment gateway will store your credit card data in an encrypted format as long as it is necessary to complete the purchase. After the purchase has been completed, your credit card data will be deleted.

How do you consent?

Before sending you any marketing material, the South African Wine Cellar will ask for express consent or provide you with an opportunity to say ‘no’.
If you are completing a transaction, placing an order, arranging for delivery of the wine or return of your purchases, the South African Wine Cellar infers that you have given us consent to collect and use your data for that specific purpose only.

How do you withdraw your consent?

After you have opted-in to receive marketing materials, if you change your mind and want your personal information removed from South African Wine Cellar’s database, please drop us an email at info@southafricanwinecellar.com.

We reserve the right to disclose your personal information if required to do so by law or in case you breach our Terms.

How do third parties disclose your data?

Third-party providers will only collect such data that is necessary for the third-party provider to perform their services.

It is also important to note that if a payment gateway is located outside of Singapore, your data will be processed not in accordance with Singaporean law, but in accordance with the laws where the payment gateway is located.
