We’re excited to invite you to something a little different, an exploration into the lesser known side of South African wine. This time, we’re going somewhere truly unexpected.
Beyond the familiar classics lies a world of rare, unconventional varietals, grapes that are quietly shaping the Cape’s new wave. Think Vermentino, Durif, Grenache and more, varieties you don’t often associate with South Africa, now reimagined by a handful of bold, forward thinking, boundary pushing producers.
On Saturday, 30 May 2026, join us for Unchartered: South Africa’s Rarest Varietals as we return to Deviate Wine Bar for another exclusive walkabout tasting experience, this time venturing off the beaten path.
Mingle, taste and explore at your own pace as we showcase a dynamic line up of wines that highlight the Uncommon Cape, rare, considered and truly worth discovering.
