Bosman ‘Generation 8’ Cab. Sauvignon 2024

Bosman ‘Generation 8’ Cabernet Sauvignon 2024

Winemaking

The grapes were hand-harvested from our vineyards in the Wellington region. These different vineyards are planted in granite soils in the Bovlei, and schist soils near Hermon, which give the wine a fruit-driven style from the former, and a finely structured elegance from the latter.

Grapes are hand-harvested and de-stemmed before fermentation. For the extraction of colour, pump-overs and punch downs were executed during fermentation in stainless steel tanks. Before alcoholic fermentation is complete, the must is pressed to ensure that the tannin expression is fine and subtle. A portion of the wine is matured in French oak for 4 months.

Tasting Notes

Deep ruby red with a magenta rim. A bouquet of black fruit, particularly black currant and dark cherry, with subtle hints of violets and chocolate. A smooth, rounded mouthfeel with soft velvety tannins and a lingering finish of blackberries and warm spice.

Total Acidity: 6.0 g/l
pH: 3.69
Wine of Origin: Wellington

Special Notes

Our farm in the Bovlei is well suited to the cultivation of Cabernet Sauvignon. Early summers give the grapes time to ripen, while well-drained soils and a myriad of slopes form the basis of interesting terroir variations which enhance the complexity of the wine.
